The Perinatal Time Period is typically thought of as the moment a person becomes pregnant until a year after the baby is born. I'm a bit looser with the definition, because I think babies (and grownups!) and the process of becoming a parent don't necessarily fit perfectly into time-oriented boxes.
EMDR is the gold standard for trauma (PTSD) treatment. It's also extremely effective for other mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, grief, pain, addiction, and sleep issues. The bilateral stimulation that is hallmark to EMDR helps the brain process and file memories where they are supposed to be filed, which decreases distress and suffering. For more info, go to EMDRIA.
